Dana Grund
Designer and Goldsmith with over 22 years “at the bench”
As an artist and craftsman, Dana has always been inspired to explore how things are made and to experiment with creations of his own. Growing up in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Dana spent much of his time in his father’s workshop learning how to make everything from boats, bicycles, furniture, and houses, to clothing.
His love of design and craftsmanship led him to enroll in the Kootenay School of the Arts, Center for Craft and Design in Nelson, British Columbia to study furniture design. During his time there, Dana discovered a passion for creating and sculpting in miniature, and completed a diploma in jewellery and small objects design.
Dana continued to hone his craft during a four-year apprenticeship at a well-established custom jewellery shop in Calgary. Having fallen in love with custom design, Dana moved back to the east coast in 2005 to establish his own studio.
Now with over twenty years of experience "at the bench,” Dana continues to explore and create, alloying his observations and experience of other disciplines together with his own ideas to cast a unique style.
